Buying an engagement ring is one of the most exciting times in your relationship. It can also be a little daunting, don't worry we got you! Easily one of the most emotional and monumental gifts you'll ever give, the engagement ring is the symbol of a lifetime promise; you want it to be perfect. That's where we come in! ‌You know you want to propose, now what? Let’s talk about the process.

Step One: Consultation with one of our GIA certified Bridal Experts.

Whether you're prepared with inspiration photos or are just beginning to look, we are ready to help you create your dream ring. If you are located near Chicago, we recommend booking an appointment in our showroom for an in-person consultation where you can see diamonds while getting advice from our experts. If you are not nearby, our experts are available via phone, email, Zoom, FaceTime, carrier pigeon (just kidding) to walk you through the entire process and send as many pictures or videos as you need.

Advice: Look for inspiration pictures/videos to get an idea of what details you/your partner likes or dislikes. If you don’t know where to start your search, take a look at some of our past engagement ring creations on TikTok . But if you have no clue what you like after looking, don't worry. Much like clothing, you might need to try on some things to find the perfect fit. Some clients come in ready with an idea and create exactly what they want while others come in with a blank slate and figure it out as they go. Our advice is to go into the process with an open mind.

Step Two: Select the Center Stone

At this appointment, we will have multiple options from our inventory of diamonds ready for you to compare and contrast while our GIA experts break down the details. They'll explain the unique characteristics of each diamond to help you decide which is the one for you and your budget.

Advice: The internet is overflowing with advice about how to buy a diamond and what to look for. Sometimes the internet can trick people into believing things that aren't realistic or lead you in a confusing direction. Our Bridal Experts are called such for good reason, they have diplomas from GIA (the Gemological Institute of America) and know diamonds. They will give you an in-depth diamond education so you can feel confident in what you're buying

Step Three: Finishing Touches

After selecting the center stone, our team will design your dream setting with your input, of course, to show it off. A CAD image of the design, which is a digital blueprint of the ring, will be created to show you the full look. From a simple solitaire to a detailed pavé band, the possibilities are endless. After this, you can add ‘designer’ to your resume and be proud of buying the perfect ring.

Advice: Know your partner's ring size! If the two of you are working on this together, we can measure their finger size at our first consultation. If the proposal is a complete surprise, we can help you with how to find her ring size on the down low. We know all the tricks.

Step Four: Time to propose.

This step is all you!

Advice: Breathe deeply. Speak from the heart. Don't drop the ring.

Step Five: Celebrate!

Advice: Have someone take pictures, iPhone or professional - it doesn't matter! We know she will appreciate having this special time documented. Then send us a few so we can see it all come to life!
