FROM WORKING MOM TO STAY AT HOME MOM
Happy Mother’s Day!
With this being my second Mother's Day in the pandemic it's crazy to think how much my role of "mom" has changed. I am so grateful for the last 14 months and the time I have gotten to spend with my two little girls, Poppy and Lulu. I always knew being a mom was the hardest job in the world but this past year has shown me the truth of it. My perspective has changed so much and I’ve stepped into the shoes of the kind of mom I want to be. I feel more like the mother I hope my daughters will remember me as. As a full-time working mom, the last year at home with my kids has allowed me to slow down, be more present, and truly be a part-time stay-at-home mom. Before this, I was used to only being home for bedtime routines and weekend activities but for the majority of 2020, I did it all. From wake-ups to meltdowns, dance parties, baths, housekeeping, entertaining, meal, etc. - for the first time, I've been there for all of it. And I've loved it. Well, most of it. I could have lived with fewer meltdowns. All jokes aside, seeing my girls every day and watching them grow into the sweet and delicious girls they are today, it's a priceless silver lining of a really difficult time in the world.
At the end of the day, the most important thing this past year taught me is to roll with the punches, laugh when you can, and enjoy every minute - because it’s worth it.
