The Liz Adams x DRD Collaboration

The Lulu Jack Bezel Bar Necklace is very possibly our best selling piece of all time. Internally at DRD HQ, it is affectionately called the "Liz" necklace - for the woman who made it famous, Liz Adams. What started as a mutual bond over their love for jewelry, style, and no-bs parenting, Liz and Dana's connection quickly grew into a near decade-old friendship of unconditional support for one another.

"I've always gravitated towards Liz because she is down to earth, easy going and real. With her, what you see is what you get." Dana boasts about her friend. The feeling is mutual, as Liz had this to say about Dana in a recent blog post, "Dana is the best. She is a mom who just gets it. Who understands the stress, sacrifice, balance, and emotions it takes to manage a household but also appreciates nice things, investing in yourself and following your dreams." Liz's support for Dana and DRD over the years has translated to hundreds of her followers discovering and falling in love with the brand. A collaboration felt like the obvious next step. While COVID-19 got in the way of the pair getting to design the collection in person, that was the only roadblock it provided. The friends were able to communicate just as easily as ever over facetime and texts, their minds and ideas always on the same page. Dana recalls, "We couldn't get over how we were on the same page for everything - we designed the collab within minutes."

Once the COVID restrictions allowed, Dana and Liz met in our Chicago Showroom to catch up, discuss the collab, and have a little fun. With the help of Liz's husband, Dave, we asked Dana and Liz to do a fun rapid-fire "all about jewelry" quiz, and hilarity ensued, as it almost always does when they get together. Watch the video (left), and check out more behind the scenes from the design process here!
